May 22, 1980Funeral for Arthur (Jay) Jackson Duncan, 79, of Spencer was held Tuesday morning, May 27, from Warner Chapel in Spencer. The Rev. David Barker officiated
Burial was at North Lawn Cemetery in Spencer
Bearers: Bill Overing, Alvin Andis, Bill Gerdeman, Allen Duncan, Lawrence Ruker, Ralph Nelson
Mr. Duncan died Thursday, May 22 at Spencer Municipal Hospital
He was born July 20, 1900 to Peter and Flora Mae Whaley Duncan in Buena Vista County, Iowa
He received his education in Clay County and graduated from Dickens High School in 1918.
He spent most of his life in the Spencer community until moving to El Paso, Texas, eight years ago. He returned to Spencer six weeks ago.
On October 5, 1922, he was married to Maude A. Carter at Windom, Minnesota
He was a Deacan of Grace United Methodist Church of Spencer
Surviving are his widow, Maude of Spencer; two sons; Lawrence of El Paso, Texas and Arthur of Port Ludlow, Washington; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a sister, Blanch Rauch of Sullivan, Illinois
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, three brothers and a sister
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements
