Lucille Beatrice O'Neill, the daughter of Garfield and Catherine Whalen Bolster, was born March 22, 1903 in Bancroft. Her childhood years were spent in Bancrogt, where she received her education, graduating from Bancroft High School. Following graduation, she moved to Fort Dodge, where she graduated from Mercy Hospital Nursing School and became a Registered Nurse
Lucille married Andrew O'Neill on January 28, 1932 in Waterloo. In 1937, she moved to Spencer where she worked for several years as a Public Health Nurse and also County and State Director
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. She was also involved in the State and Local Nurses Association District #15 and served as president for four years. She was Public Health Burs of the Year for the State of Iowa in 1963
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one daughter, Mary Ann; two sisters; and five brothers
She is survived by several friends
