Funeral services for Katherine Janet Huntress were held Saturday, January 15, 1994 at the Congregational Church in Peterson, IA.

Clergy was Reverend Don Jones. Organist was Elsie Mae Brown. Soloist was Mary Alice Plagman. Solos were "Beyond The Sunset" and "Take My Hand, Precious Lord."

Casket Bearers were: Mel Stief, Robert Hoover, Jimmy Lew Brown, Jim Kracht, Jim Lee Brown, and Jim Ebert.

Interment as at Oakland Cemetery, Peterson.

Warner-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Katherine Janet Huntress, better known as "Kate", was born October 22, 1910, the daughter of Fred and Jesse Smith Greenlee at Villisca, Iowa. She attended grade school at Villisca and then moved to Chillicothe, Missouri and graduated from high school there.

She moved to Omaha, NE and worked as a waitress and owned a small cafe there. She moved to Spencer, Iowa in 1946.

She was united in marriage to David Eugene Huntress on August 20, 1950 at Jackson, MN. They lived at Spencer, Wichita, KS, Omaha, NE, and moved to Peterson, IA in 1956. They owned and operatedd Huntress Cafe for thirteen years, retiring in 1970.

She was a friend of the Congregational Church, member of Senior citizens, Circle #2 and Chat-a-While Club.

She passed away at her home in Peterson on January 11, 1994 at the age of 83. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 1975, one sister Alice Victor and three brothers, Charles, Clark and Fred.

Left to cherish her memory are several nieces and nephews and lots of friends.
