DR. FRANK POTTER DEAD

The remains of Frank Potter an old time resident of Peterson was brought here Friday evening for burial from his home at Missouri Valley, accompanied by his widow and Mrs. Ella Brandow of Chicago. The funeral services were conducted at the Oakland cemetery at 11:00 Saturday by Rev. Newton Moore.

Music was furnished by Dr. W.N. Gaston, Mrs. C.H. Atkinsin and Mr. and Mrs. A.M. McIntosh. Pall bearers were J.W. French, E.E. Harris, and E.C. Bertram, M.O. Newman, P.C. and D.L. Stevens.

Below we give a clipping from the Missouri Valley Times:

Dr. F.H. Potter, one of the best know men in Harrison county, passed away suddenly at his home on Third street, Wednesday afternoon following several months of illness.

For thirty years he practiced the Veterinary business but it grew too strenuous and the past eight years he has been agent for the Dodge Elevator company of Council Bluffs, and was a most active worker when his health permitted, it having been gradually breaking down the past four years.

Dr. Potter has been in our midst the past sixteen years and made hosts of friends by his likable ways and will be sadly missed by his associates.

He was born in Troupsberg, New York, and with his people crossed the plains twice to Helena, Montana when a mere youngster. He grew to manhood in Wisconsin, later coming to Iowa where he has since made his home with the exception of a few years in South Dakota.

He leaves to mourn his death a wife, two daughters, Lulu and Mrs. Earl Cox, and one sister, Mrs. E.A. Brandow, of Chicago, Ill.

Services were held Thursday afternoon at the home at 4:30, Rev. Carder of the Methodist church having charge. The remains will be taken to Peterson, Ia., Friday morning where he will be laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery beside his parents, sister and little daughter who have gone before him.
