September 19, 1971Funeral for Mrs. Elizabeth Chalfant, 72, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Spencer and Gillett Grove, will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday from Warner Chapel in Spencer. The Rev. James L. Murphy will officiate
Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery

Mrs. Chalfant died September 19 at the Boise Convalescent Center
She was born January 9, 1899 at Walnut Grove to Martin and Minnie Garavene Lau
On August 23, 1916, she was married to Guy Chalfant at Walnut Grove
They farmed for many years at Gillett Grove retiring and moving to Spencer in 1943. In 1953, they moved to Boise
Survivors include her widower, Guy; six brothers, Hugh Lay of Rapid City, Minnesota; Floyd Lay of Minneapolis; Martin and Fred Lau both of Farmngton, Minnesota; Henry Lau of Lakeville, Minnesota; and Woodrow Lau of Wisconsin; and four sisters, Mrs. Amanda Terry of Wyoming, Minnesota; Mrs. Alice Swedenburg of Minneapolis, Mrs. Dora Gibson of Farmington, Minnesota and Mrs. Violet Kennedy of Northfield, Minnesota
She was preceded in death by her parents
