George Hoyt Atkinson, 1863-1945

George Hoyt Atkinson was born February 27, 1863 in Green County, Wisconsin, the son of George and Sarah Ann Atkinson.

He came to Peterson, Iowa with his parents in 1872 and lived in the family home there until in young manhood he went to Des Moines to study pharmacy. In 1895 he purchased a drug store in Creston, Iowa and conducted business there until 1917. In Creston he met and married Lucille Neal in March 1903. To this marriage one daughter, Olga, was born. In 1917 Mr. Atkinson sold his business in Creston and moved to Sioux City, residing there and in California with his daughter and her family until his death on March 19, 1945. His daughter Mrs. C.H. Fraser of Inglewood, California and his granddaughter, Betty, survive him.
