Loucille A. Carpenter, 84, died Saturday, November 6, 1999, at Spencer Municipal Hospital.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Warner Chapel in Spencer, with the Rev. Scott Holmes officiating.

Casket Bearers; Douglas Carpenter, Duane Carpenter, Curtis Pike, Dennis Pike, Don Sharar and Keith Thomason.

Honorary Bearers; Brenda Pike, Janine Sharar, Jill Thomason, Terry Carpenter, Charles Carpenter, and Cathy Carpenter.

Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer.

Loucille A. Carpenter, daughter of Edwin and Fern Youde Goedicke, was born June 26, 1915, in Spencer. She received her education in Spencer, graduating from Spencer HIgh School in 1933.

On January 10, 1936, she married J. Russell Carpenter in Spencer. Following their marriage they farmed in the Spencer area. In 1959, they bought their own farm northwest of Fostoria. In 1966 they sold the farm and built a new home in Fostoria.

Mrs. Carpenter was a member of Fostoria Methodist Church, the Farm Bureau, a 4-H volunteer and was awarded the Governor's Volunteer Award for teaching adults to read. She worked at Wonder Whip in Fostoria until her retirement and had been a resident of Northshire since November of 1995.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on April 29, 1967; one sister, June Nygaard; and a grandson, Bruce Malmstrom.

Mrs. Carpenter is survived by her children: Ron Carpenter and his wife Gwen of Omaha, Nebraska; Janice Malmstrom and her husband Greg of Webster City; Jerry Carpenter and his wife Jean of Milford; Julie Pike and her husband Harold of Ames; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
