February 8, 2000Funeral services for Jessie Cardell, 93, of Milford, were held at the Union Memorial Church of Milford on Friday, February 11, 2000. The Rev. Kate Lambertson officiated.
Burial was in North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer, Iowa.
Casket Bearers; Roger Beck, Charles Campbell, Junior Handy, Charles Kovacevich, Billie Meyer, and Clarance Taylor.
Mrs. Cardell died Tuesday, February 8, 2000 at the Milford Nursing Center.
Jessie Cardell was born on August 29, 1906 in Sullivan, Illinois, to Eli and Effie Stroud Taylor. The family moved to Ruthven when she ws a child.
On October 22, 1925, she was married to Henry Cardell in Estherville. They farmed in Lake Township for 15 years and near Terril for 12 years, before moving to Milford in the late 1960s. She worked at Gerk's Resort and she and Henry were custodians at Union Memorial Church for 18 years.
She was a member of the Union Memorial Church.
Mrs. Cardell was preceded in death by her husband; five brothers and six sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Campbell and her husband Dale of Des Moines; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters; Ruby Petersen of Sutherland and Ruth Sprague of Austin, Minnesota.
The Turner Funeral Home of Milford, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
