1989Archie A. (Shorty) Comer, 76, of Sioux City and formerly of Spencer, died Tuesday at Casa DePaz Nursing Home in Sioux City.
Services for Mr. Comer will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel of Sioux City, with the Rev. L. Duane Churchman officiating.
Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery in Spencer at 3 p.m.
The son of George and Rose Comer, he was born December 15, 1912. He was raised in Atlantic.
He married Phyllis Arrasmith on June 20, 1940 and they lived in Spencer for 30 years, were Mr. Comer was a mill foreman at the Farmer's Elevator in Spencer. He retired in 1970 after the death of his wife and moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota. He lived there 16 years before moving to Sioux City.
While in Spencer, Mr. Comer was a member of the Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents
Mr. Comer is survived by one son, Garry of Sioux City; three sisters, Beulah Peters and Anita Christansen, both of Mason City, and Lula Souders of Wahkiacus, Washington; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Meyers Brothers Colonial Chapel of Sioux City is in charge of arrangements.
