Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Jones Funeral Home for James E. Critzer who died last week at the Veterans's Home in Des Moines. The Rev. George Siemens officiated at the funeral.

Burial was at the North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion were in charge of the grave.

James E. Critzer was born March 8, 1886 at Washington, Ohio, the son of Albert and Mary Frances Smith Critzer.

He served in the World War, enlisting, September 23, 1917 at Fort Logan, Colorado and served until discharged at Camp Dodge in Des Moines, January 22, 1919. While in service he joined the 109th French Mortar Batallion.

He came to Spencer and worked at the Culver Service Station and on painting crews for seven years and then returned to Des Moines.

Four sisters and four brothers survive. The are Lottie Badger of Blooningburg, Ohio, Ada Kever of Washington, Ohio and Letcha Marone of Maryville, Ohio and Chas Wesley of Urbana, Illinois, Homer of Eugene, Oregon, Walter S. of Urbana, Ohio and Will of San Antonio, Texas.
