Funeral services for Ethel Mae Burne, 86, of Spencer were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Spencer. Dr. Patrick D. Shelley officiated.

Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery in Spencer.

Casket Bearers: Tom Burne, Bill Burne, Ermanno Mazzei, Bob Zinn, Bill Zinn, John Zinn.

The daughter of John H. and Mary Krabbenhoff Berner, Burner was born September 8, 1895 in Clay County. She received her education in Gillett Grove Township and married William Burne on February 14, 1918 in Spencer.

They farmed in the Spencer area until 1941, when they moved into town. She worked as a sales clerk at the Scott Store until 1965, when she retired.

A member of the First Congregational Church. She also belonged to the May Circle.

She died April 28 at her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William in May of 1967; one son Robert; three sisters and one brother.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Roger and Elva Burne of Raytown, Missouri; one daughter and her husband, Mary Kay and Elmer Zinn of Spencer; a daughter in law, Mrs. Mabel Burne of Forest Park, Illinois; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of the service arrangements.
