Mildred R. Veatch Bittinger, 82, Des Moines, died Sunday, February 13, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, at North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Spencer, with the Rev. Ellis Andrews officiating.

Mildred R. Veatch Bittinger, the daughter of Emery and Mary Brown Veatch, was born on September 3, 1911, near Stockport.

Mrs. Bittinger was an executive secretary for three Iowa State Agriculture Secretaries; for the Board of Cosmetology and a former Deputy Secretary of State. She retired in 1960.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey.

She is survived by one sister, Iowa Belle Andrews of Milton.
