Mike H. Heien, the son of John and Reka Helmers Heien was born March 6, 1897 in Danforth, Illinois. His childhood years were spent near Greenville on his parents farm, where he attended country schools.

Mike married Alice Jane Binning on January 20, 1926 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Spencer. Throughout their married life, they lived on farms in Greenville, Gillett Grove. They moved on their own farm in Webb in 1942, where they continued to live until moving to Spencer on November 6, 1966.

Mike liked to make furniture for his family members and friends from home cut and cured lumber.

He was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. He was bapitzed as a baby April 18, 1897 in the Lutheran Church at Danforth, Illinois and was confirmed into the Lutheran Faith by Pastor Wolfrom on April 15, 1917.

Mr. Heien passed away at his home in Spencer on January 21, 1990 at the age of 92.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Alice of Spencer; 2 daughters; Mrs. Donald (Jean Ann) Paulsen of Everly, and Mrs. Walt (Janet) Durbin of Brookly Park, Minnesota; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 sisters; Mrs. William (Tena) Runkle of Spencer, Mrs. Norman (Tracy) Crawford of Algona and Mrs. Rueben (Elizabeth) Curry of Spencer; as well as other relatives and friends.

Casket Bearers; Bob Black, Bob Speed, Lyle Williams, Dean Kalvig, Melvin Weber, Tim Kohn.

Honorary Casket Bearers: Everett Dotson, Bob Essick, George Koenig, Raymond Hollander, Noel Rust, Marvin Rossiter, Darrell Scharnberg.

He is buried at Garfied Township Cemetery.
