Funeral for George August Beck, 87, of Ruthven will be at 1 p.m., Monday from Lost Island Lutheran Church of Ruthven. The Rev. Ernest Christensen will officiate.

Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery at Spencer.

Bearers: Clarence Beck, Milo Meyers, Duane Schoning, Dale Schoning and Edward Guthrie.

Mr. Beck died Thursday at Emmetsburg Care Center in Emmetsburg.

He was born June 29, 1888, to Jacob and Mathilda (Dahms) Beck in Clay County, Iowa

On December 31, 1912, he was married to Minnie Luke at Spencer.

Mr. Beck was a retired farmer. Hen had been residing at Emmetsburg Care Center the past 2 1/2 years and had lived in Ruthven prior to that time.

Survivors include a son, Roy Beck of Ruthven; a granddaughter, Mrs. Shirley (Beck) Loring of Emmetsburg; a great granddaughter, Janelle Loring of Emmetsburg; two brothers, Fred Beck and Gustav Beck, both of Spencer and three sisters, Mr. Augusta Van Schravendyk of Hope, Idaho; Mrs. Marie Sonius of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Mes. Elmer Myers of Ruthven.

He was preceded in death by his wife; two sisters; three brothers and his parents.

Lightle Hayes Funeral Home in Ruthven was in charge of arrangements.
