April 4, 1983Funeral services for Samuel Marvin Barman, 78, will be held, Tuesday, April 12, 1983 at 2 p.m. at the First English Lutheran Church. the Rev. Ronald Meyer will officiate
Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery
Casket Bearers; Toby Shine, Nick Udorvick, roger Glau, John Kirkwood, Ted Lambertus Jr. and Jay Quinn
Honorary Bearers; Larry Mumm, Gordon Larsen, Eddie Quinn, Lee Holt, Ellsworth Hansen and Carl Abel
Barman died Saturday, April 9, 1983, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital
The son of Abraham and Muriel (Jamison) Barman, he was born May 4, 1904 in Des Moines. A resident of Spencer since 1936, he married Ella Louise Philliph on December 9, 1945 in Jackson, Minnesota
Self employed for many years, Barman owned the United Home Improvement Company. He retired in 1975
He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church and Glen Pederson Post No.1 of the American Legion.
Barman served in the U.S. Army during World War II
Survivors include his wife, Ella Barman, two sisters, Ann Kline, Des Moines and Hestia Anonoff, Los Angeles, California
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Belle; and one brother, Irving
The Baumgarten Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
