Daloris Maxcine Kracht , the daughter of Fred William Kracht and Dorotha Valora Salmon Kracht was born in Crofton, NE, on November 3, 1925. In the spring of 1938, the family moved to a farm east of Fostoria where she completed her eighth grade education at a nearby country school. She then attended Lake Center Iowa High School through her junior year. At that time, the family moved south of Spencer, IA. Daloris attended high school in Spencer where she graduated in 1943. She continued her education in Des Moines, IA, at the American Institute of Business, graduating with honors. During her time there she was a nanny for former State Senator Robert Keir. After her return to Spencer, she became employed at Scott's Dime Store. She then took a position as bookkeeper for a few years at Woods Elevator. Daloris then decided to venture to Red Desert, WY, where she worked with her aunt and uncle at their restaurant and motel. After that trip, she returned to Spencer where she began working at the Clay County National Bank and worked as a teller for 18 years. Upon leaving the banking industry, Daloris became the main caregiver for her parents.

She was such a blessing to her brothers and sisters with her willingness to watch and care for their children. She loved to spend time with them and it was well known she truly loved her nephews and nieces. She enjoyed sewing for herself and her family.

One of her other greatest joys was her work with the children in Sunday school at the Rossie United Church of Christ. She was baptized on April 14, 1957, at the Rossie United Church of Christ, where she served on several committees. She was also involved in God's Portion Auctions and Sales and the ice cream socials. In her later years, Daloris attended the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal.

Daloris was a traveler and historian at heart. Her travels took her many places. She enjoyed her vacation time with Dorothy Batschelet. They visited many states, Canada and two world fairs. She spoke often of her early years and would relate to her siblings the stories of their births in historical detail. She was the family historian, having compiled a family genealogy book, which was another of her great accomplishments.

Daloris is survived by two brothers, Duane Darrell Kracht and wife, Kay of Linn Grove, IA, and Fred Don Kracht and Phyllis Lowe of Spirit Lake, IA; one sister, Doris Ann Kracht Wilson and husband, Earl of Sierra Vista, AZ. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Violet Mae Kracht Gonnerman; and an infant brother, Donal D. Kracht.
