1982Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 14, 1982 at the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake at 9 a.am. Officiating clergyman were Rev. Warren Paige and Rev. William F. Moore.
Pallbearers; Bob Bryan, Harold Fronk, Johnny Russell, Don Sawyer, Darwin Will and John Williamson.
Burial was made at the Northlawn Cemetery.
Art was born to Charles and Gertrude (Johnson) Weik, August 22, 1916 in rural Clay County, Iowa.
On October 28, 1941 he married Evelyn French at Spencer and they made their home in Texas and Louisiana where he served in the U.S. Army. In 1946 they moved to Spirit Lake where he operated an implement dealership until 1958 when he became an auditor for the Iowa Department of Revenue until retirement in 1978.
Art was also an auctioneer for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, two daughters, Lee Ann Stransky of Elkhart, Indiana and Linda Moore of Corapolis, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren; one brother, William of Walker, Minnesota and one sister, Lucille Hagedorn of Spencer, IA.
Donovan Leyson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
