Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 13, 1987 at 1:30 p.m. at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

Rev. Robert Cummings was the officiating clergyman.

Casket Bearers: Tom Gibson, Delmar Clarken, George Koenig, Pat Gibson, John Clarken and Larry Vanderhoff.

Honorary Casket Bearers: Karl Marker, Art Crone, Pete Leslie, Lloyd Kingery and Clarence Ahrens.

Interment was made in Northlawn Cemetery.

Elmer Dale Parsons, the son of Ivan and Louisa (Speed)Parsons, was born May 31, 1930 in Webb. His childhood years were spent in the Gillett Grove area and it was there that he received his early education. After graduating from Gillett Grove High School, Elmer continued farming.

On January 24, 1953, Elmer married Mary Jane Saunders in Jackson, Minnesota. Throughout their marriage, they lived in Gillet Grove community where Elmer farmed for many years.

Mr. Parsons passed away at the University Hospital in Iowa City on January 9, 1987 at the age of 56 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Susan.

Elmer is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; three sons, Dennis and Joel both of Webb, Darryl and his wife Tammie of Sioux Rapids; four daughters and their husbands; Tamra and Gary Rieck of Big Fork, Montana; Christine and Larry Beck of Spencer, Janeen and Bill Madson of Alton and Janel and Dave Maurer of Spencer. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Warner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
