January 13, 1987Funeral services were held Friday, January 16, 1987 at 10:30 a.m. from the Congregational Church in Peterson. Rev. Rick Koch was the officiating clergyman.
Casker bearers: John Jensen, Carl Jensen, Bruce Carrington, Dean Carrington, Barry Buse and Scott Draisey.
Burial was made in the Oakland Cemetery near Peterson.
Mary Schultz, the daughter of J.F. and Magdalena (Jortlund) Heick, was born May 29, 1894 at Peterson, Iowa. She attended the Rock Forest Grade School which was the first class in Clay County.
She was united in marriage to Louis Schultz on February 11, 1914 at Spencer, Iowa. They farmed near Peterson for 50 years and moved to town in 1964.
She was a member of the Ladies Aid, the Order of the Eastern Star, the 4-H Club along with other activities and she loved flowers.
She passed away at the Spencer Hospital on January 13, 1987 at the age of 92.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, four brothers, John, Carl, Peter and Walter and two sisters, Dagmar and Annie, a daughter, Thelma Jensen, and infant son and a granddaughter, Lynette Johns.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters and their husbands, Helen and William Carrington of Peterson; Mary Lou and Terry Buse of Albert City; Bonnie and Harvey Greibe of Aurelia.
Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great grand daughter; one brother, Albert Heick of Spirit Lake, two sisters, Alma Frazier and Dorothy Sorenson both of Spencer, as well as other relatives and friends.
Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
