Leaving Spencer a week ago last Wednesday afternoon apparently in the best of health and dying a week later at Boulder, Colorado, Mrs. W.J. Wilson, aged 35 years, daughter of Mrs. Mary A. Shorb, 351 east Fourth street, Spencer, fell a victim of pneumonia following a brief illness of Spanish influenza. A telegram reached Spencer last Thursday afternoon informing relatives of the serious illness of Mrs. Wilson. Another telegram addressed to her brother, Andrew Shorb, received later said that she passed away Thursday evening. The body, accompanied by the husband, arrived in Spencer Monday afternoon and was taken to the home of her mother from which place the funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. F.C. Taylor, pastor of Grave M.E. church and burial was made in the family lot at Riverside cemetery.

Ollie Shorb was the youngest child of the late John A. and Mary A. Shorb and was born in Riverton township, this county on September 28, 1883. With her parents she moved to Spencer twenty-eight years ago. She received her education in the Spencer schools and on September 28, 1901, was united in marriage to Frank Hendricks, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Hendricks ,formerly of this city, but now residing at Dubuque. Following their marriage they lived in Spencer for a few years and then moved to Algona, where they resided for several years and where Mr. Hendricks died on May 28, 1913. To this union were born three children, two daughters, Lenore, aged 15, and Gladys, aged 14, and one son, Master John, aged 13 years.

Following her husband's death, Mrs. Hendricks and children returned to Spencer, where for a time they made home with her mother. From here they went to Brookings, South Dakota, where on April 13, 1917, Mrs. Hendricks was united in marriage to W.J. Wilson, a prominent resident and an instructor in the laboratory department of the State College at Brookings. Owing to the failing health of Mr. Wilson, they decided to spend the winter in Colorado and were on their way to Ft. Collins, when she was overtaken by death.

Aside from her husband and three children, the deceased is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary A. Shorb, five brothers, Andrew, of this city; Edward, of Summit township; John and George, of White Cloud, Kansas; and Frank, of Earlham. Her father and two sisters, Mrs. George O. Lewis and Mrs. L.L. Marker, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Methodist church and was a woman who was universally respectedd by a large circle of acquaintances. She was devoted to her home and children and to the bereaved ones is extended the deep sympathy of their many friends.
