Chase Thomas Caswell was born on May 19, 1993 to Paul and Becky (Polzin) Caswell at the Windom Area Hospital. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers, MN on June 27, 1993 and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer, IA on May 13, 2007. Chase received his education from Spencer High School. He participated in church as a server, attended bible camp in the summer and went on a mission trip to New Orleans with his youth group. He also won the Volunteer of the Year award for Degree of Honor in 2007.

On July 10, 2013 Chase was diagnosed with NUT Midline Carcinoma Cancer. From the very beginning to the very end he kept a positive and upbeat attitude. He fought this disease with such courage and strength. Chase touched everyone he met with this appreciative attitude. Many doctors and nurses came to him to tell them how great of a kid he was and they admired him. Chase lived his life with an "I do what I want" attitude and surprised everyone with toughness. He passed away peacefully at the Spencer Hospital on October 14, 2013 at the age of 20 years, 4 months and 25 days.

Chase enjoyed spending time with his many friends and working at McDonalds. He loved to spend time at the Lakes either swimming with his buddies or boating with his family. In the winter he loved to snowboard. He loved to target shoot, fish, trap, and hunt with his Grandpa Roger and Uncle Terry. He enjoyed the many vacations he took with this family whether it was to the ocean, to the mountains or just to the farm. When you leave today, please know that Chase has given each of you a fist bump and a "Peace Out" goodbye.

Chase is survived by his parents, Paul and Becky and his younger brother, Gage; grandparents, Roger and Donna Polzin of Jeffers, MN and Charles Caswell of Westbrook, MN; great grandmother, Margaret Will of Jeffers, MN; his girlfriend, Alyssa Simpson and her son, Carson of Spencer, IA; aunts and uncles: Margo Wright and Scott Thompson of Storden, MN, Terry and Savannah Polzin of Randall, MN, Mark Caswell of Waco, TX, Scott Caswell of Westbrook, MN and Lynn and Mauricio Lopez of Philadelphia, PA; cousins: Dustin, Eric, Nick, Tegan, Tristan, Charlize and Olivia.
