A funeral service for Coletta Anderson, 95, of Spencer will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2003 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer with Rev. Roger Linnan officiating.

Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer.

Ms Anderson died at the Longhouse Residence in Spencer on Monday, June 30, 2003.

Casket Bearers: Howard Gannon, John Rahn, Jim Morony, Frank Snider, Don Schoer and Chris Bjornstad.

Honorary Casket Bearers: Barbara Hanson, Mary Kay and Bill Johnson, Sally and Kirk Naber, Bob and Cindy Gannon, Bill and LaDonna Gannon, Nancy and Ron Enger, Rom and Janet Gannon, Dick and Lynn Gannon, Walt and Lillian Schmidt, Cheryl and Matt Lantz and Elmer and Mary Kay Zinn.

Coletta Anderson, the daughter of Henry and Isabelle (Auer) Graff, was born February 10, 1908 in Sheldon, Iowa. She received her early education in Granville, Iowa and moved with her parents to Spencer in 1921, where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1926. Following graduation, she was employed as a secretary to LeRoy Rader, Attorney, in Spencer for one year. On September 1, 1927, the Clay County National Bank was a newly organized bank and she accepted the position as secretary.

Coletta married J.E. (Smokey) Anderson on June 1, 1963 in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, she continued to work at the bank until retirement after 42 years on April 1, 1970.

Coletta was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was active in the Alter Society and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also active with the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Parker Historical Society. She served as Clay County Cancer Crusade treasurer for 20 years and was involved with the Senior Citizen's Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.E. (Smokey) on April 9, 1979.

She is survived by one stepson, Ed Anderson, Jr., of Chico, California, four step grand daughters and her extended family, the Howard and Velma Gannon family.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
