September 15, 1988Funeral services for Celia Anderson, 84, Spencer, were held yesterday morning at the First Christian Church in Spencer, with the Rev. Dr. J. Landon Williams officiating
Casket Bearers: Joel Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Barry Anderson, Steven Werts, Bradley Anderson, Stanley Nissen, John Anderson, Kent Anderson, Michael Werts, Randall Anderson, rodney Anderson and Charles Sjogren.
Burial was in North Lawn Cemetery in Spencer
She died Thursday, September 15, 1988 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital
Celia Mae Anderson, the daughter of Alvin and Josie (French) Davis was born August 16, 1904 in Olivet, South Dakota. Her childhood years were spent in the Gillett Grove and Greenville communities and it was there that she received her early education. Her studies included a Normal Teaching Course in preparation for teaching
She married Elmer Anderson on May 27, 1926 at the First Christian Church parsonage in Spencer. Thoughout much of their marriage, they lived in Gillett Grove Township in Clay County. She taught elementary school in both the Harmony Country School and in Rossie.
The couple moved to Spencer in 1959. She was a member of the First Christian Church, C.W.F. of the Church, Harmony Club and the Farm Bureau.
Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents and one infant sister.
She is survived by her husband, three sons and their wives; the Rev. Ronald and the Rev. Clela Anderson of Bridgeton, Missouri; Wendell and Vivian and Dean and Margaret, all of Greenville; three daughters and their husbands; Wilma and Russell Werts, formerly of Pueblo West, Colorado; Doris and Donald Nissen of Spencer, and Lola and Lowell Sjogren of Sibley, 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren
