MRS. KONRAD KAIL DIES AT AGE 41
WAS NATIVE OF THIS CITY; HAD BEEN ILL ONLY A SHORT TIME
Mrs. Konrad Kail, life time resident of Spencer, passed away Monday morning of this week at 7:30 o'clock at her home 445 West Second street, at the age of 41 years, in months and 21 days.
Although Mrs. Kail had been seriously ill for the past week her death was a shock to her family and friends. She was taken ill a week ago last Sunday. She attended church that morning and in the afternoon enjoyed an automobile ride. After the ride when she returned to her home she became seriously ill. Her death was caused from peritonitis resulting from colitis.
Born in Spencer
Mabel Pedersen, the daughter of Andrew Pedersen, blacksmith of Spencer, was born June 10, 1888, in Spencer, and made her home here until her death. She attended the Spencer public schools. At Minneapolis, July 1915, she was united in marriage to Konrad Kail, photographer and owner of Kon's Studio in Spencer. The marriage vows were read by Rev. Day of Whittier, California, a farmer pastor of the Congregational church in Spencer. After their marriage they returned to Spencer.
To this union five children were born, all of whom survive. They are, May, Margaret, Konrad, Jr., Joseph and Robert Lee.
Mrs. Kail was a woman of pleasing personality. She was always doing kind deeds for her family and friends and was always thinking of others. Mrs. Kail was a devoted wife and a very kind and loving mother. All who knew her loved her. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Although not a member of the Methodist church, Mrs. Kail attended service regularly.
Five Children
She is survived by her husband and five children mentioned above, her father, Andrew Pedersen, four brothers, Elmer and Donald of Spencer, Iva of Royal and Roy of Linwood, California, also one sister, Mrs. A.L. Van Trump of Linwood, California.
Mrs. Kail was preceded in death by her mother and two brothers, Glenn Pedersen, who was killed in the World War and Floyd who died at the age of two years.
Funeral services were held this Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church. Dr. Herbert Clegg, pastor, had charge of the services. Short prayer was held at the home at 1:30 o'clock. Burial was made in Riverside cemetery.
Among the out of town relatives at the funeral were Mr. Kail's three brothers, Joseph Kail of Perry, Henry Kail of Lohrville and Robert Kail of near Des Moines.
