John Voss, 84, Spencer, died August 15, 1999 at his home in Spencer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 19, at the North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Spencer, with Rev. Tom Reagan.

John Voss, the son of John and Lula (Foltz) Voss was born Decemeber 31, 1914 in Emmet County. His childhood years were spent in that area where he received his early education. After graduating from high school, John began farming.

In 1943, he was united in marriage to Margaret Thompsen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They remained in Iowa, where John operated a turkey farm. In 1959, he moved to California and made his home in Antelope Valley near Los Angeles. He worked on a turkey ranch a number of years and also worked at a ammunition's plant near Lancaster, California. For a short time, he worked at a hospital in California. Following his retirement, he returned to Iowa making his home in Spencer with his sister, Dorothy Clapp.

Mr. Voss was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife.

John is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Voss of West Branch and one sister, Dorothy Clapp of Spencer.
