February 13, 1979Funeral for Glen LeRoy Youde, Sr., 87, of Spencer was held Friday afternoon from the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
The Rev. David Barker officiated.
Burial was at North Lawn Cemetery, Spencer, IA
Bearers; James Youde, Jon Youde, Bruce Youde, Burdel Youde, Jerry Youde and Gary Youde
Honorary Bearers; Robert Wiese, Douglas Wahl and Virgil Plautz, Jr.
Mr. Youde died Tuesday at Longhouse Residence in Spencer.
He was born April 7, 1891, to Sam and Atha (West) Youde in O'Brien County, Iowa
On June 4, 1913, he was married to Mildred Gladys Morgan in Spencer.
He received his early education in O'Brien County and graduated from Spencer High School in 1912 after his family had moved to Spencer.
Mr. Youde farmed in Clay, Dickinson and O'Brien County, then returned to Clay County near Langdon where he farmed until retiring in 1958.
At that time, he and his wife moved Spencer, where he had since made his home.
Surviving are two sons, Glen, Jr. and Robert, both of Spencer; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Willment of Richmond, Virginia; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mimi Wurui of Coralville, Iowa
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a daughter, two grandchildren, four brothers and a sister.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
