Mrs. S.C. Clapper died Sunday morning at two o'clock at her home in Riverton township, after being sick just a week with pneumonia.
Miss Mary C. Sleater was born near Tipton, Iowa, on March 24, 1873. On January 13, 1906, she was united in marriage to Mr. S.C. Clapper. To this union three children were born, two girls and one boy. In the spring of 1892 they moved to Clay county, Iowa, on their farm in Riverton township.
Mrs. Clapper was a member of the Methodist church. She was a devoted Christian lady, a loving wife and mother, and a kind neighbor, always ready to help and assist those who are unfortunate.
The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the home, the services being conducted by Rev. E.E. Evans of Hampton, and the interment was in Riverside cemetery.
She leaves her husband, three children, three brothers and three sisters and a host of friends to mourn her loss.
Mrs. Fred Franklin of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Hattie Moreland of Tipton, sisters, and Wm. Sleater, a brother from White Lake, South Dakota, were here for the funeral.
