Parker Fred Barglof, the son of Fred and Ellen (Parker) Barglof was born August 11, 1920, in Douglous Township Clay County, IA. He was raised in Sioux Rapids, Webb and Gillett Grove areas where he graduated from Gillett Grove High School, in 1941.

Parker served in the Navy, during World War II.

He married Roselma Chatfield on August 5, 1946 in Worthington, MN.

He worked as a farmer near Greenville, Iowa, until moving to Spencer in 1977. He also worked as a mechanic at Spencer Farm Center until his retirement in 1983. Parker enjoyed woodworking, arrowhead hunting, nature, mechanics, and making birdhouses.

Parker passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2010 at Longhouse Nursing Home, In Spencer, IA, at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ellen Barglof.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Roselma, of Spencer, IA; 3 sons, William (Pat) Barglof, of Bennett, IA, David (Cheryl) Barglof, of Spencer, IA, and Dale (Amy) Barglof, of Waterloo, IA; 7 grandchildren, Missy Johnson, David (Angie), Mark (Betsy), Scott, Heather, Ashley Barglof, Erika (Patrick) Petticord; one step grandson, Christopher Lyon; 3 great-grandchildren, Jacob and Ryan Barglof, and Siena Petticord; other relatives and many friends.
