Funeral for Harvey William Duncan, 76, of Royal, was held Tuesday afternoon from Warner Chapel in Spencer. The Rev. Donal Wooge officiated.

Burial was at the Dickens Cemetery

Casket Bearers; Irving (Chine)Petty, Kent Bensen, Robert Larson, Francis Baysinger, Dick Garms and Martin Baysinger.

Mr. Duncan died at his home, Saturday, August 19.

He was born June 24, 1902, to Peter Franklin and Flora (Whalen) Duncan at Newell, Iowa.

He moved to Dickens at and early age and received his education there.

On June 4, 1926, he was married to Mildred Strohman at Spencer. After marriage, the couple farmed near Gillett Grove four years. He then went to work for the Clay County Road Department. In 1938, they moved to Royal where he worked as a road maintainer operator until 1970 when he retired.

Mr. Duncan was a member of the Royal United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mildred of Royal; three sons, Kenneth of Phoenix, Arizona; Harold of Aurora, Minnesota, and David pf Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Mrs. Gale (Patty) Grahm of Denver, Colorado; and Mrs. Alvin (Bev) Andis of Spencer; 25 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a brother Jay Duncan of El Paso, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons,Edward Eugene Duncan and Harvey Duncan Jr., two brothers and a sister.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
