April 19, 1990Services for Ethel Alice Alger, 86, Webb, was Monday at the Warner Chapel in Spencer. The Rev. Clark Christian officiate.
Casket Bearers; Bill Alger, Doug Alger, Tom Titler, Roger Alger, Mike Titler, David Titler
Honorary Casket Bearers were all the grandchildren.
Burial was in Northlawn Cemetery, Spencer
Mrs. Alger died Thursday, April 19, in the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
She was born September 2, 1903 in Garfield Township, Clay County to George and Eliza (Bessant) Speed.
She received her early education in Garfield Township Center School, Garfield Consolidated School and graduating from Webb High School.
On May 9, 1922 she married William Alger in Spencer. Throughout their married life, they farmed in Logan, Garfield and Gillett Grove Townships until his death in 1959.
Mrs. Alger moved from Logan Township to Webb in March of 1967.
Mrs. Alger was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gillett Grove, where she a member of the United Methodist Women and was a member of the Farm Bureau Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two grandson, three brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Alger is survived by three sons and their wives, Orrin and Lela of Webb, George and Dorothy of Dickens and Donald and Gloria of Spencer; one daughter and her husband, Karen and Ron Titler of Everly; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren
