LUNDBECK RITES HELD THURSDAY
Death Occurs to Life Time Resident of County in Sioux City Hospital
Mrs. Henry Lundbeck, 48, life time resident of Clay county died Monday morning, July 31, in a hospital in Sioux City where she was taken a few days previous for medical treatment. The latter part of May Mrs. Lundbeck became ill and was taken to Chicago where she underwent an operation in a hospital there. Seemingly improved, she returned to her home following three weeks of treatment in a hospital in that city, but was later taken to Sioux City.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon, Thursday, at 1 o'clock from the Lundbeck home, southeast of Royal and at 2 o'clock from the Bethlehem church, conducted by Rev. A.P. Anderson of Royal, assisted by Rev. G.A. Danielson of Iron Mountain, Mich., a nephew of the deceased. Burial was made in Willow Creek cemetery.
Mary J. Hagedorn was born in Clay county, Iowa, April 3, 1887. In infancy was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church faith, to which she remained. Her education was received in the public schools of the county.
On May 8, 1908, she was united in marriage to Henry Lundbeck and to this union two children were born, Arnold Carl and Helen Iona. The family made their home on a farm southeast of Royal, Mrs. Lundbeck providing the family circle with a Christian spirit of love and fulfilling the duties of a Christian wife and mother.
Surviving are her husband and two children, her aged father, Louie Hagedorn, Sr., two brothers, Peter M. Hagedorn and Louis Hagedorn, Jr., two sisters, Mrs. M. E. Mortenson and Mrs. Nathaniel Beck all living in the Royal community. Her mother, a brother and an infant sister preceeded her in death.
