Mr. Carl Lundbeck, residing about ten miles southwest of Spencer, in Lincoln township, died last Saturday, Oct. 31, after an illness of about four months. He was born in Gotne parish Skarabourgs state, Sweden, Sept. 22nd, 1848, and was at the time of his death 65 years, 1 month and 8 days old. He was married in Sweden to Miss Anna Magnuson, Nov. 27, 1867, and the union was blessed with four children, all born in Sweden, of which tow died in childhood before the family migrated to this country. In 1882 Mr. Lundbeck came to this country, with his wife and two children, and settled in Clay county, Iowa, where he has lived until his death, and been an industrious, successful and useful citizen. In 1889 Mr. Lundbeck with his family united with the Swedish Ev. Lutheran church in Lincoln township, of which he was a faithful member until his death. he leaves to mourn his loss a faithful wife and two children, Henry C. and Mrs. Marie Danielson, and five grandchildren, also several more distant relatives. The funeral was held last Monday from the Ev. Lutheran church, Rev. E.C. Jessup preaching the funeral sermon. Rev. Soholm, of Royal, was also present and spoke briefly. The funeral was attended by a very large gathering of neighbors and friends. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery, in Lincoln township.
