Milton E. Carpenter, 1884-1927

Milton Elsworth Carpenter, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Carpenter was born at Tama, Iowa, November 20, 1884, and died January 22, 1927 at the age of 42 years, 2 months and 2 days. At the age of thirteen he moved with his parents on a farm in Peterson township, Clay county, at which place he has made his home all the time except for two years when he lived near Greenville, Iowa. In his early youth he attended the schools in Tama county and later the Peterson high school, in Peterson.

He was confirmed in the Catholic church and was a member of the St. Louis church of Royal.

His health has not been very good for a number of years and while everything was done that science could do, yet the end came very suddenly Saturday morning at 4:20.

He leaves to mourn his departure his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Carpenter, one brother, Alvin, of Greenville, one sister, Frances of Linn Grove, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Carpenter of Marshalltown, besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the family home Tuesday, January 25, 1927, at one o'clock, Rev. Barry of Royal officiating. Interment was made in the family lot in Oakland cemetery, at Peterson.
