Charles W. Spangler, a resident of Clay county for thirty eight years died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.M. Woods, at Dickens, on Tuesday morning, March 22, at seven o'clock, at the age of 54 years. Death was due to diabetes and Bright's disease.
Charles W. Spangler was born on March 22, 1873 near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. When he was sixteen years old he came with his parents to Clay county where he has since resided. He was married in 1900 to Miss Myrtle Alice Vesey, at Spencer. They lived on a farm for several years, later moving to Spencer where Mr. was employed with a number of different firms. For the past year and a half he has been making his home with his daughter at Dickens.
Mr. Spangler is survived by his wife, three children, Mrs. Woods of Dickens, Everett of Dickens and George of Seattle, Washington; four brothers, Jess of Storm Lake, George of British Columbia, Canada, Bert of Sandstone, Minnesota, and John of South Dakota; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Chapman of Spencer, Mrs. Vera Welch of Fairmont, Minnesota and Mrs. Doris Coragiuio of Trail City, South Dakota.
