LITTLE BOY DROWNED
Harry Nelson Loses His Life In the Little Sioux River Friday
Friday evening at about 5:30 o'clock, Harry Carl Nelson, the nine year old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Nelson, while at play gathering birds' eggs on the M. & St. L. road bridge, became over balanced and fell into the Little Sioux River and was drowned.
Searchers worked nearly all that night trying to find the body, but on account of the high water the search was futile, but was resumed in the morning. Nearly the entire force of the Cement Products company were in the searching party, and many from town. The body was located Saturday noon where it was found about thirty rods below where the little fellow fell in.
The little fellow was born in Spencer on August 15, 1904. His parents afterwards removed to Benton Lake, Minnesota, but came back to this city last fall.
The funeral was held Monday at 2:30 from the Congregational church, Rev. Thrush conducting the services, and the interment was in Riverside cemetery. He leaves to mourn his death his parents, and three sisters.
