Louis A Larsen a resident of Clay County since 1874 passed away at his home in Meadow Township at five o'clock Friday, February 29, after an illness which had lasted for several years. The cause of his death was consumption. He spent his last year at Brush, Colorado and seemed much better when he returned in Spencer last November. He had made plans to leave on the day of his death for Kalispell, Montana, where he ecpected to gain relief from his suffering.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, March 4, by Rev E A Grummer, pastor of the American Lutheran Church. The services were conducted at one o'clock at the Louis Larsen home five miles northeast of town and at one thirty at the St Paul Lutheran Church in Meadow Township. Burial was made in the Meadow Township Cemetery.

Louis A Larsen was born in Drealette, Denmark on June 29, 1867. He lived in Denmark until May, 1874, when he moved to the United States with his parents and came immediately to Clay County, Iowa, when they established their home in Meadow Township. Later Mr Larsen purchased the farm five miles northeast of town where he made his home during his life.

Mr. Larsen was married on November 22, 1894 to Miss Julia Holm who came to this country from Denmark shortly before her marriage. To this union two sons were born, Hans A Larsen and Robert T Larsen. Besides his wife and two sons he is also survived by his mother, Mrs A Larsen and one sister, Mrs P N Kress of Spencer and three brothers, Carl C Larsen, Peter M Larsen and John A Larsen, all of Spencer.
