Jon Klaus Davies, the son of Ronald and Johanna (Klaus) Davies, was born August 7, 1942, in Jackson, MN. His childhood years were spent in Jackson where he received his education, graduating from Jackson High School.

Following his schooling, he entered the military and served with the U. S. Army during Vietnam until his honorable discharge on August 31, 1967.

After serving his country, he married Linda Coleman Meiergerd in 1968 and he adopted three children: Dale, Melinda and Jerry, and together, he and Linda had one son, Brent. They later divorced in 1971. During this time he worked for UPS in Emmetsburg and Spencer, Iowa.

Jon married Shirley Rosenboom on January 15, 1977 in Jackson, MN. He was self-employed in the trucking business for many years. In his later years, he worked for K&B Transportation of Sioux City, IA, until his retirement. They had lived in Spencer for the last 20 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.

Jon passed away at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the age of 70. His parents preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley of Spencer; his children: Christy and Steve Olson of Linn Grove, IA, Tim and Jeanine Rosenboom of Hartley, IA, Tammy and David Ault of Mt. Airy, MD and Craig Rosenboom of Spirit Lake, IA; 14 grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
