His father purchased the mercantile store where Jackson’s Café is located. Paul began his education at Everly, Iowa, and continued his education at Webb where he graduated from the Webb High School.
Paul was united in marriage to Pearl Cross on October 19, 1930. They lived through some very difficult times during the Depression. Pearl went home to be with the Lord in March of 1949.
Paul married Gladys Dickerson on May 16, 1951, at Spencer, Iowa, and they resided with his father until he passed away in 1969.

Paul was a faithful member of the Webb Volunteer Fire Department until his health failed. He served as fire chief four times.
Paul and his partner, Gerald Lindquist, built several homes in Spencer and in the Iowa Great Lakes area. They were both perfectionist and took pride in their work. He also built bowling lanes in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and North and South Dakota.
Paul attended the First Baptist Church of Webb for many years.
Special interests of Paul’s included woodworking. leather crafts, hunting, and in later years, he enjoyed riding his lawnmower around town and giving children rides on it. He was also a gun enthusiast. Paul will be remembered as a friend to many and truly cherished the opportunity to visit and socialize with his family and friends.
Paul will be deeply missed by his wife of 56 years, Gladys, of Webb, Iowa; two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Mileham of Webb, Iowa, and Marie Oman of Colorado; a special cousin and his wife, Denny and Linda Adams; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
