September 5, 1987Services for Erling L. (Andy) Andersen, 71, of Webb, will be at 2 p, Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Webb
Mr. Andersen died Saturday at his cottage at Lost Island Lake.
The Rev Mike Boykin will officiate. Military services will be Glen Pedersen Post No. 1, American Legion.
Burial will be in Garfield Cemetery at Webb.
Casket Bearers; Wendell King, Craig Woodford, Gene Rubel, Phil Rust, Don Hoover and David Hopkins
Honorary Bearers; Jim Mills, Leslie Christiansen, Kenneth Severson, Paul Wellnitz, B.W. Boese, Noel Rust and Raymond Ball.
The son of Hartman and Anna (Lundblad) Andersen, he was born January 23, 1916 in Fredsville, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Gillett Grove area, where he received his early eduacation. After completing his schooling, he operated a grocery store in Webb.
Mr. Andersen entered the military in 1942 and served with the Army during World War II. Following his discharge in 1945, he returned to the Webb area.
He married Lela LeClaire on May 17, 1947, in Jackson, Minnesota. They made their home in the Webb community where for 37 years he operated the Webb Cafe.
Mr Andersen was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church, serving as an elder and on many other committees; a member of the Webb American Legion, Parson Hart Post and the Webb Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife; one son Barry of Tucson, Arizona; one daughter and her husband, Diane and John Martin of Mason City; three grandchildren; two brothers, Carlo of Spencer and Ernest (Sam) of Spirit Lake; and three sisters, Marguirete of Omaha, Nebraska, Lillian Mangold of Linn Grove and Jeanette Holiday of Spencer.
