Eugene Blair, a resident of this section for the past twenty years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Williams, at Sioux Rapids early Monday morning.

He had been confined to his bed for the past two months with cancer of the intestines, spending the first few weeks at his home, after which he was taken to the hospital at Iowa City. Here an operation was performed disclosing definitely the nature of the disease, and the fact that he head but a short time to live. About a week ago he was brought from Iowa City to the home of his daughter where he gradually grew worse until the end came Monday morning.

Eugene Blair was born in Illinois about fifty-three years ago, grew to manhood in that state. He was the father of twelve children, of whom ten and his wife survive him. He also leaves two sisters and two brothers.

The funeral took place Wednesday, the remains being interred in Garfield cemetery, where his two children were already laid to rest--Webb Record.
