Delores Ellenwood Sebastian, the daughter of Jessie and Frances Yost Faulkender, was born May 13, 1933 in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in the Spencer area where she had received her early education in country schools and later Spencer High School.

Dee married James Benjamin Ellenwood on July 1, 1950 at Jackson, MN. Following their marriage, they made their home in Spencer. Dee worked at the Maidrite, Super Valu and Superior. James passed away on August 30, 1978.

On June 29, 1985, Dee married Merrill Sebastian in Spencer. Merrill and Dee worked side by side doing yard work, snow blowing and crafting. They also enjoyed volunteering at the Spencer Community Theatre and working on the Smokey Mountain Rail Road at the Fairgrounds. She was an active member of the Faith Pentecostal Church in Spencer where she was instrumental in starting Church Fellowship Luncheons. She also had an interest in children and youth activities and donated play equipment at the Church's Country Chapel in Ruthven. In her spare time, Dee enjoyed cooking, gardening and fishing. Most of all, Dee loved spending time with her family.

Dee passed away on February 14, 2011 at Longhouse Residence in Spencer at the age of 77. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James Ellenwood; her daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Ellenwood and one brother, Marvin Faulkender.

Dee is survived by her husband, Merrill Sebastian of Spencer, IA; her children: Steven (Cindy) Ellenwood, David Ellenwood, Nancy (Glenn) Twombley all of Spencer, IA 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 4 step-children: Bryan (Shantell) Sebastian of Spencer, Rodney (Lori) Sebastian of St. Paul, MN, Kevin (Melissa) Sebastian of Everly, IA and Jackie Moss of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Ruth King of Elmore, MN; two brothers: Bob (Sharon) Faulkender of Spencer and Roger (Carol) Faulkender of Iowa City, IA; sister-in-law, Ardelle Faulkender of Spencer, IA; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
