H. P. Winkleman, 60, resident of Clay county for the past nineteen years, died Wednesday morning, June 19, at 8:30 o'clock at his home north of Spencer, following an illness of more than a year. Death was caused from cancer.

Definite funeral arrangements had not been made late Wednesday evening.

Mr. Winkleman was born in Davenport, Illinois, August 1874 where he made his home for many years, later moved to Adair, Iowa, which place he was a resident until moving to this county.

At Adair, September 14, 1895, he was united in marriage to Miss Alvina Schwenneker of that place.

Surviving are his wife, seven children, Mrs. John Pattee of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; Mrs. Herman Boetter of La Habra, California; Earl Winkelman of Whittier, California; Royce Winkelman of Estherville, Mrs. Leland Fliss of Milford, Paul Winkelman of Spencer and Leslie at home, also numerous grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
