Bonnie Jean Stoermer, the daughter of Paul and Jessie (Gowen) Bowers, was born November 1, 1924 in Webb, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Webb, where she received her education, graduating from Webb High School. She later attended Des Moines Business College.

Bonnie married Joy Stoermer on April 18, 1944 in Jackson, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm near Dickens, Iowa where they raised her family. She was a member of the Dickens Methodist Church and was an active member of the UMW. Bonnie enjoyed sewing, reading and gardening.

Bonnie passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Friday, April 18, 2008 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joy on November 24, 2002; one daughter, Carolyn Stoermer; and an infant brother, Raymond Bowers.

Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: Anne and Jerry Baca of Limon, CO, Joy Jeanne Stoermer of Brooklyn Park, MN, Larry and Vicki Stoermer of Byers, CO, Kathy and Dan Peterson of Dickens, IA, Steve and Sue Ann Stoermer of Dickens, IA and Susan and Ed Jayme of Kansas City, MO; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Verne and his wife, Arleen Bowers of Centerville, OH; other relatives and friends.
