Joan Kay Trostheim, the daughter of Fred and Fern Wohlers, was born June 19, 1941 in Sherburn, MN. Her childhood years were spent Sherburn and Spencer, Iowa where she received her early education.

Joan married Donald Trostheim and to this union, a daughter, Tami Trostheim was born. During their marriage, they lived in Forest City, Iowa for 15 years.

In 1990, Joan moved to Spencer, Iowa, where she worked at the Sunshine Center. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer.

Joan passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the age of 66. She was preceded in death by her father.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tami Michelson and her husband, Kyle of Dell Rapids, SD; two grandchildren: Kory & Eric; two sisters: Janet Hennings and her husband, Ronald of Hartley, Iowa and Mary Wilkens and her husband, Carey of Arnolds Park, Iowa; her mother, Fern Wohlers of Albert City, IA; other relatives and friends.
