INTERMENT
Fairview Cemetery
Rural Langdon, Iowa

Dale Eugene Kabrick was born on a farm near Spencer on July 1, 1917, to Edgar and Annie (Volk) Kabrick. He spent his years growing up on the farm and was involved in 4-H, showing calves at the Clay County Fair and the Iowa State Fair.

Dale was united in marriage to Gertrude Ginger at the Little Brown Church in Nashua Iowa on May 5, 1940. They settled outside Spencer where they farmed. They had three children, Patricia, Kathryn, and Kenneth. With their children, they continued their involvement with the 4-H Program, serving as leaders and on different committees. Dale is an honorary member of the Clay County 4-H Club and received a pin for 25 years of service.

Dale was very active with the United Methodist Church in Langdon and served on the Church Board. Every year, he would provide wooden crafts or home-baked items for their God's Portion Sale. He was the Board President for the Parker Historical Society, furnishing the one-room school house display. Dale was a active member of the Meadow Township Board, serving as President and later as the Township Clerk. He was also instrumental in the school reorganization in 1962 when the Township Schools were absorbed into larger school districts. He also served on the Farmers Cooperative Elevator Board and an active Farm Bureau member.

After retiring from farming, Dale enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a regular spectator at his grandchildren's events, especially basketball games in Terril. He enjoyed his Sunday morning brunch with friends after church and any other chance that he had to socialize with friends and neighbors.

Dale passed away on December 24, 2007 at St. Luke's Nursing Home in Spencer, where he had spent the last 7 years of his life following a stroke. He enjoyed living at St. Luke's because it offered him the opportunity to stay connected socially. He knew many of the residents and those that he didn't know became fast friends. He kept active playing BINGO, attending Bible Studies, catching up on his current events, and handing out bulletins before church services on Sunday. One of Dale's favorite activities at St. Luke's was teasing his granddaughter Jody and the various nurses who cared for him. Dale's sense of humor was almost always present while living at the nursing home.

Waiting for him at Heaven's Gate are his parents, his wife Gertrude, his daughter Patricia, his son-in-law Larry Moulds, his four brothers, Raymond, Arthur, Harold, and Walter, and his brother-in-law Dwayne.

Left to celebrate his life are his daughter Kathryn of Schaumburg Illinois, son Kenneth and his wife Veronica of rural Langdon, son-in-law Joe Thompson of Spencer, nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many relatives, and friends.
