Mary Kay Lorenzen Youde, the daughter of Burdette (Bud) and Marjorie (Helmers) Lorenzen, was born November 13, 1963 in Spencer, Iowa. She attended school in Spencer and later graduated from Spencer High School in 1982. She was employed at Cycle Country in Spencer.

Mary passed away at the Mercy Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa on July 21, 2007 at the age of 43. She was preceded in death by an infant sister; her maternal grandparents: Herman and Lillian Helmers; her grandfather, Francis Lorenzen and a step grandfather, Harold Harjes.

She is survived by her parents: Bud and Marge Lorenzen of Spencer; her significant other, David Koch and his child, McKinley Koch of Spencer; a sister, Ann and her husband, Jim Warburton of Milford, Iowa; a brother, Jim and his wife, Jennifer Lorenzen of Spencer, Iowa; her grandmother, Lillian Harjes of Storm Lake, Iowa; two nephews: Michael James Warburton and David Duane Warburton both of Milford, Iowa; two step nephews: Jason Goodchild of Rapid City, South Dakota and Justin Goodchild of Spencer, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.
