Katie Loraine Rienfeld, the daughter of Roy and Helen Horton, was born May 20, 1947 in Mansfield, Ohio. Her childhood years were spent in southern Florida and her teen years were spent in LaPuenta, California, where she received her education. Following her schooling, she lived in Long Beach, Washington, where she owned and operated a Century 21 agency.

Katie married Steven Rienfeld on March 20, 1981, in Lake Tahoe, California. Following their marriage, they moved to Pocahontas, Iowa where they made their home. Katie loved Nascar, gambling, interior decorating and taking care of her flowers and indoor plants. She also raised boxer dogs.

Katie passed away at the Pocahontas Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at the age of 59. Her parents preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Steve of Pocahontas; three children: Ray Howard and his wife, Linda, of Fonda, Iowa, Amanda Rienfeld of St. Paul, Minnesota and Sean Howard; two grandchildren: Caitlin Jones and Jordan Jones; one nephew, Kyle Rienfeld; other relatives and many friends.
