Steven Ray Quist, the son of Robert Quist, Sr. and Marge (Faulkner) Quist, was born October 9, 1957, in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer where he received his education in Spencer schools. Steve entered the military and served with the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge.

Steven married Diane Deer at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Following their marriage, they continued to live in Spencer, they were later divorced. He worked as a truck driver for several trucking firms for several years in the Spencer area. He also operated a Limousine service for several years and for the last year he worked as a dispatcher for Pioneer Transfer.

Steve passed away at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at the age of 49. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Quist, Sr. and one brother, Robert Quist, Jr.

He is survived by one son, Andrew Quist of Spencer, IA; his mother, Marge Quist of Spencer; four sisters: DeAnn and her husband, Jim Johnson of Royal, Sandra Conover of Royal, Barbara and her husband, Tim Bates of Spencer and Renee and her husband, Tim Lyman of Hull, IA; several other relatives and many friends.
