Dickens, IowaMaurice (Pee Wee) Gustin, the son of Ernest Guy and Blanche Ella (King) Gustin, was born April 1, 1916, in Spencer, Iowa. He lived in Gillett Grove area until 8 years old and moved to Dickens where he graduated from High School.
On October 6, 1934, Pee Wee married Alma Maxine Beams in Ponca, NE. Following their marriage, they farmed south of Dickens for 28 years. After retiring from farming, they moved to Royal. He was a member of the Dickens United Methodist Church where he served on the Church Board. Pee Wee also served on the Township Board of Dickens and the Dickens Cemetery. He was a 4-H Leader for 15 years and helped with Boy Scouts. In his spare time, Pee Wee enjoyed bowling and fishing, but most of all he loved his time with his family.
Mr. Gustin passed away on October 4, 2006, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 90. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ray, in 1987; sister, Mary; brothers Ralph and Lee; and twin grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine, of Royal, IA; one son and his wife, Marlin and Marcia Gustin, of Royal, IA; one daughter, Margaret Rust, of Rice Lake, WI; 9 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Neil Gustin and his wife, Barb, of Kansas City, MO; other relatives and friends.
