SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2006 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

OFFICIATING
Rev. Paul Hansen will officiate.

INTERMENT
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Spencer, Iowa.

Gerald was born in Sherwood, ND to Joe and Vallie (Butterfield) Armstrong. He graduated from Sherwood High School. He joined the United States Army in 1942. As a member of the Second Division, he fought in the Battle of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his discharge he attended North Dakota State School of Science. He married Doris Sussenguth on September 13, 1946. He was in the dry cleaning business in Wahpeton, North Dakota, New Ulm, MN and Spencer, IA. Upon retirement he enjoyed golfing and working in his garden. Jerry and Doris moved to Willmar, MN in August of 2005. He was member of the Grace Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Lions Club.

Gerald J. Armstrong, 86, of Willmar, MN, died Saturday in Savannah, Georgia in the home of his son Brian Armstrong.

He is survived by his wife, daughter Susan Ritterholz and husband Bill, son Brian Armstrong and wife Suzanne Donovan, granddaughter Stephanie Abel and husband John Swanson, great grandchildren Mia and Jack Swanson, sister Louise Jevne, Fargo ND, and brother Kenneth Armstrong, Marietta, Georgia, He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry, parents, three brothers and one sister.
